This guide will show you how to solo bosses with ease. The build makes you very tanky, with heals and Serenity while giving you good sustained damage which increases the longer you attack the same target. Bosses aren't the only thing this build excels at, with good AOE combos for clearing large groups of monsters. Played correctly you should never die, and be able to take down almost anything.

Skills

Way of the Hundred Fists
Available at level 21

Generate: 6 Spirit per attack

A rapid series of punches strikes enemies for 135% weapon damage.

Critical hits increase your attack speed by 22% and movement speed by 11%. This effect lasts for 5 seconds and can stack up to 3 times.

This is your main way of building up spirit. It has good damage, and will with the Obsidian runestone it will increase your attack speed, which helps quite a bit in long fights.

Exploding Palm
Available at level 12

Generate: 6 Spirit per attack

The first two strikes in the attack deal 100% weapon damage. The third strike causes the target to bleed for 65% of weapon damage per second for 3 seconds. If the target dies while bleeding, it explodes, dealing 40% of the target's maximum Life as physical damage to all other enemies nearby.

The first two strikes cause the enemy to take 10% additional damage for 5 seconds. This effect stacks up to 8 times on each target.

This is your secondary spirit generator. Use this when you can land a killing blow on a monster with it, as it will cause the monster to explode dealing a bit of AOE damage to surrounding monsters. This skills true power however is against higher HP targets like bosses, because with the Obsidian runestone you can get up to 80% increased damage on the target plus bleed damage. Really this can add up to a lot of damage, and it generates spirit!

Breath of Heaven
Available at level 5

Cost: 75 Spirit

A blast of holy energy heals you and all allies within 12 yards for 4790 - 6387 Life.

Increases the healing to 9820 - 13093 Life.

A simple but powerful spell, with the Indigo runestone this spell will heal you for a huge amount, really letting you tank during fights and then heal when you get low. Also very important to have with the passive Guiding Light, which will increase your damage whenever you use it.

Serenity
Available at level 18

Cost: 35 Spirit
Cooldown: 60 seconds

You are enveloped in a protective shield that intercepts all incoming damage for 3 seconds and grants immunity to all control impairing effects.

Increases the duration of Serenity to 6.5 seconds.

This helps you become a real tank, stopping anything from hurting or stopping you for a whopping 6.5 seconds with the Obsidian runestone. This will often buy you the time you need to heal with Breath of Heaven.

Lashing Tail Kick
Available at level 3

Cost: 25 Spirit
Cooldown: 3 seconds

Unleash a deadly roundhouse kick, knocking enemies back and dealing 130% weapon damage.

With a torrent of fire, strike all nearby enemies for 312% weapon damage as Fire damage and knock them back.

Your only offensive spirit spender, Lashing Tail Kick will give you that extra damage that this build needs. It combos well with Exploding Palm to clear groups of monsters, while still being effective against bosses. We need a bit more damage for this build, so the Crimson runestone is a good choice to increase it.

Mantra of Evasion
Available at level 2

Cooldown: 30 seconds

Recite a Mantra that grants you and all allies within 40 yards a 30% chance to dodge attacks. Lasts 120 seconds. Dodge chance is doubled in the first 3 seconds.

This is a Mantra. You can only have one Mantra active at a time.

Successfully dodging an attack creates a burst of flame dealing 120% weapon damage as Fire damage to all nearby enemies.

It is a tough choice between this Mantra and Mantra of Conviction. If you feel like you do not need any more tankiness, then by all means go for the damage Mantra. However by choosing the Crimson runestone, you can get quite a bit of damage out of this defensive ability, especially once you add in additional dodge chance with the Sixth Sense passive.

The first thing to watch out for is always making sure you have your Mantra up at all times. It is both defense and damage, so it is vital. Don't hesitate to dive right in to big fights. Even if it gets out of control you should be able to escape with your life and deal a bunch of damage to boot. Although this guide is primarily for Bosses, this build should be fine for general leveling and questing.

Passives

Near Death Experience
Available at level 0

When receiving fatal damage, you are instead restored to 35% of maximum Life and 35% Spirit.

This effect cannot occur more than once every 90 seconds.

Sixth Sense
Available at level 0

Your dodge chance is increased by an amount equal to 50% of your chance to critical hit.

Guiding Light
Available at level 0

Whenever you heal another player with an active skill, you and the other player deal 16% more damage for 10 seconds.

Items

Try to get increased critical chance, increased dodge and good damage items. You are already very tanky, so you don't need to especially worry about it but it helps to have a good amount of armor.

PvE

For PvE and groups of monsters a good combo to clear them out is to first use your Lashing Tail Kick to hit a group then try to finish them off with an Exploding Palm so they burst dealing AOE damage. Remember to heal yourself often to get the damage boost. The more monsters trying to hit you means the more times you will dodge them, dealing damage, so go into groups with your heal ready and it should be easy to take them down.

Boss Fights

This is where this build really shines. You can either tank the fight with a party or solo any boss. You basically want to get right next to the boss, and make sure it is always attacking you. Try to generate spirit by using Exploding Palm and Way of the Hundred fists. The more you use Exploding Palm the more damage you will do as it stacks up to three times. Whenever you can you should use your Breath of Heaven to heal yourself since it also boosts your damage. It is good to use even when you will not heal the full amount. If you get in trouble or are being held back by some crowd control just use your Serenity, it can really get you out of any jam. If you are high on spirit go ahead and Lashing Tail Kick whenever it is up for that extra damage. You should also be getting free damage on every dodge, especially if you have good critical chance on your items. With heals, Serenity, and

Overall I think this is a very strong build to level with, but it is even stronger once you hit max level and are just trying to do boss runs. If you have any suggestions or improvements for the guide please private message me!
